MOUNTS
The Optical Tube (OT) of a telescope is fixed on a mount which helps the telescope in go to movement on the desired astronomical object. It also helps in tracking the object at the exact speed the specific object is moving in the sky. At Taqwa Space Observatory, we have some advanced and one of their kind mounts in Pakistan.
ASA DDM85-A
This is the primary mount at Taqwa Space Observatory on which 16 inches Meade LX 200 is mounted. It is a direct drive mount with high torque motors in RA and DEC. The accuracy of this mounting is so precise that guidance can be dispensed with. The running accuracy without autoguider correction over an hour shows peak to peak 0.68 arc seconds or 0.18 arc seconds RMS.
Astro-Physics GTO-1100 Mount
It is a German Equatorial Mount with Servo Motor Drive. The R.A. and Dec. axes split easily for a more comfortable assembly and / or transport - load easily a telescope (configuration) of over 110 lb. It has a GTOCP4 Control Box and Auto-Adjusting Motor/Gearboxes, optional GTO Keypad available. It has encoders in R.A. und Dec Axis.
Celestron CGX EQ Mount
It is a German equatorial mount which when properly polar aligned, provides precise tracking on the Right Ascension axis allows the optical tube to follow objects without field rotation making it ideal for astrophotography and imaging. It has a 55 lb payload capacity, 3 to 65° latitude adjustment range and 20° of additional tracking past the meridian provides greater usability. It comes with a NexStar+ Hand Controller which has Intuitive menu-driven user interface along with 9 slew speeds. It has 3 tracking rates i.e. Sidereal, Lunar, and Solar and also anti-backlash correction
